PURPOSE:To intensify the adhesion between carbon refractories and metal and to prevent the exfoliation thereof in an implement for handling a molten metal by interposing metallic powder mixed with a binder to the boundary between the carbon refractory surface and metallic surface and adhering both surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The metallic powder and/or metallic oxide mixed with an org. or inorg. binder are stuck by coating, etc., on the metallic 1 surface of a gas blowing tuyere and metallic case brick. The carbon refractories 2 are press- welded to such surface to manufacture the tuyere or metallic case brick. Al, Zr, Si, etc., are used for the metallic powder and MgO, Al2O3 are used for the metallic oxide powder. Ruggedness is thereby generated between the metal 1 and the boundary surface 3 and between the surface 3 and the refractories 2 so that the frictional force acts on the force parallel with the metallic surface even at an ordinary temp. The exfoliation between the carbon refractories 2 and the metal 1 is thus eliminated. |
