A feeding installation for animals, in particular pigs, has a feeding cage (1, 2, 3, 7, 11) for an individual animal, which cage has at one longitudinal end an inlet door (4). A feeding place (9), which can be reached from the feeding cage, with feed dispensing device (18, 21) and an electronic control arrangement (22) is present, which, via an identification arrangement (12), identifies individual animals situated in the cage according to identification marks borne by them and actuates the feed dispensing device (18, 21) and a locking arrangement (5, 6) for the inlet door (4). In order better to adapt the cage to the mode of behaviour of the animals and to increase the well-being of the animals, as well as also to make possible a more accurate check of the feeding and of the individual animals as well as in case of need also the individual dispensing of mixed feed, the feeding cage (1, 2, 3, 7, 11) has in the vicinity of the feeding place (9) an outlet (10) provided with a further door (11), the inlet door (4) can be locked against an opening actuation from the interior of the cage and the outlet door (11) against an opening actuation from the outside of the cage, and the floor (1) or the entire cage is supported on a weighing device (17) which is connected to the control device (22). <IMAGE>
