Gas heating devices function at their best with constant conditions with regard to chimney draught and waste gas flow. Moreover, a flow safety device is intended to ensure that, in the event of a back-draught out of the chimney, the waste gases pass into the combustion chamber. By means of a flap (9), which is inserted into the flow safety device in front of the chimney connection opening (5) and which is arranged in an annular casing part (7), optimum conditions are made possible. In this case, the casing part (7) is provided with an apron (10) which partially conceals the passage opening (3) for the waste gases between combustion chamber and flow safety device. <IMAGE>
