The nozzle body for the uniform linear application of a continuous liquid film to a surface of a tubular or web-shaped body advancing axially in the vertical direction consists of retarding chambers which extend in the horizontal direction and have, for the liquid, at least one inlet opening and a multiplicity of outlet openings arranged adjacent to one another, and an angled guide part for the free discharge of the liquid, which guide part is arranged below the retarding chambers and is built up of a centre part extending obliquely downwards towards the vertically advancing body and an end section which is present at the lower end of the centre part and is contiguous therewith at an obtuse angle. The upper end of the centre part is located below the outlet openings of the retarding chambers and the end section terminates in front of the surface of the vertically advancing body.
