PURPOSE:To prevent the acceleration of the local corrosion of bricks forming the wall of a refining furnace when refining is carried out with a top blowing lance having a main nozzle for refining and sub-nozzles for secondary combustion at the tip part, by rotating the top blowing lance during refining. CONSTITUTION:A top blowing lance 2 having a main nozzle for refining and sub-nozzles for secondary combustion is put in a converter 1 to refine molten steel 6. At this time, the top blowing lance 2 is repeatedly rotated and stopped with a prescribed rotating mechanism for rotating the lance 2 in an arbitrary direction at an arbitrary speed. The lance 2 is vertically movable. Thus, the formation of a hot spot on the wall 10 of the converter 1 by local overheating is prevented. |
