ROOM TEMPERATURE-SETTING AQUEOUS COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To give room temperature crosslinkability to the obtained composition and to eliminate the need of separately storing the polymer and the crosslinking agent, by dispersing an isocyanate crosslinking agent captured by a polymer and a polymer to be crosslinked by this crosslinking agent in water in the form fine particles. CONSTITUTION:The following components A and B are dispersed in water in the form of fine particles: namely, (A) a hydrophobic solvent in which a polymer (polymer 1) which captures an isocyanate compound is stabilized by dispersing with the aid of at least either of a block polymer and a graft polymer each of which has two sections of different polarities and (B) a polymer (polymer 2) having isocyanate group-reactive functional groups. A surface to be treated is coated with the above room temperature-setting aqueous composition, and said water and said hydrophobic solvent are volatilized to bring the polymer which captures the isocyanate compound into contact with the polymer having isocyanate group-reactive functional groups to form a polymer film.
