PURPOSE:To certainly connect electrodes without installing especially complicated apparatus, by electrically connecting respective electrodes for detection of the ink amount in at least two ink containers in an ink cartridge. CONSTITUTION:As to the series wiring, the yellow upper part electrode 2-Y is connected to the black upper part electrode 2B with a wire 21A, the magenta upper part electrode 2-M being connected to the black lower part electrode 3B with a wire 21 B, and the cyan upper electrode 2C is connected to the yellow lower part electrode 3Y with a wire 21 C. Respective electrodes are in series connected from a cyan needle 22-C to a magenta needle 22-M via three wires 21A, 21B, and 21C on a flexible substrate 20 and inks B, Y, M, and C. Current is applied between the cyan needle 22-C and the magenta needle 22M and the resistance is measured. If any ink is lost, the resistance thereof becomes infinite. Therefore, the going lost of ink can be surely detected. |
