PURPOSE:To improve atomizing characteristic, by providing a valve steam with a first valve for supplying steam in a steam chamber to a nozzle and a second valve for supplying fuel in a fuel storing chamber to the nozzle in a steam type injection valve in a diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:When a cam turns to lift a valve steam 2, a first valve 33 leaves a valve seat 34 and a second valve 9 leaves a valve seat 8, respectively so that steam in a steam chamber 3 is injected toward a nozzle 35 and fuel in a fuel storage chamber 4 is supplied to the nozzle 35 from a thin hole 7 through communicating holes 6... and a passage 5. They are mixed and atomized by a jet steam stream to be injected into a combustion chamber 21. With this arrangement since the fuel does not contact the steam when the valve stem 2 seats, the steam does not change to waterdrop and the fuel does not change in quality, whereby atomizing characteristic is improved and excellent combustion performance is obtained. In addition, any special atomizing unit is not required, which simplifies the construction.
