The invention relates to the anchoring of a fastening element, which is provided with bead-like locking means on its anchoring part, in a borehole of a piece of masonry, which has preferably been undercut, by filling the borehole with a hardenable binding agent. The binding agent is injected via a filling aperture in the flange which fixes the fastening element in the borehole and seals off the borehole opening. So that the anchoring method can be applied without making use of a special boring tool, a boring plate which is provided with boring points and lateral cutters is arranged on the front section of the anchoring part of the fastening element.
