<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect an obstacle dropped on an airport runway. SOLUTION: Plural imaging apparatuses 21-27 are installed on the runway 1 in its lengthwise direction with a certain interval, the images of the surface of the runway 1 photographed by the imaging apparatuses 21-27 are compared with a reference image pattern in a normal time, and the obstacle 3 is extracted and displayed. Scanning for detecting the presence of the obstacle 3 is carried out at timing fed from an apparatus control room 63 or the like and synchronized with that of taking off and landing of an airplane from/to the runway 1. As a result, rapid obstacle detection synchronized with the timing of the taking off and landing of the airplane can be executed, and the use efficiency of the runway 1 can be improved.</p> |
