METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANAGING TCP CONNECTIONS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for managing TCP connections in which an average time required for registering one connection does not increase in proportion to the number of registered connections so that the TCP connection can always be accessed at high speed. SOLUTION: A method and a device for managing TCP connections includes the following procedures: generating a base table when a connection control program is initially activated; building up a connection identifier with n-bytes having one-to-one association with a unique connection based on offsets of entries in n connection pointer list groups arranged in tree structure which are pointed in sequence from the base table; pointing a desired connection status management table in the relevant connection pointer list obtained by using the offsets in the n connection pointer list groups which are developed in sequence in accordance with the connection identifier given when starting a search.
