An apparatus for welding a cathode in an electron gun, the cathode (13) comprising principally a slab (14) in an envelope (15), the apparatus pertaining being of the kind in which at least one head performs welding by abutment, each welding head being situated laterally (17) with regard to the envelope (15) and comprising a welding needle (10) mounted in a support (22) and provided with a first drive device (25-31) of the pneumatic type adapted to operate via a piston (29) mounted coaxially (17) to the displacement of the needle (10) on a rod (28), thus ensure abutment thrust (12) of the needle onto the envelope, characterized in that the apparatus comprises a second drive device (23-23A) mounted on the rod supporting the needle and being actuated via the same piston (29) in order to realize a welding thrust, said second device pertaining to the calibrated spring type.</p> |
