<p>PURPOSE:To make an accurate steering angle detectable, by installing two driving magnets, each thickness varies toward a longitudinal direction, in one side of two members being relatively moved according to steerage operation and also a magnetic sensor in the other side as opposed to a butting part of both these magnets, respectively. CONSTITUTION:This steering angle sensor 11 emitting a signal for rotating an electric motor in a motor-drive power steering into a return direction is constituted of a magnetic sensor 12 locked to a gearbox 6 of a rack-pinion type steering gear and two driving magnets 13 and 14 locked to a rack shaft 5. On an outer circumferential surface to be opposed to the magnetic sensor 12 of the rack shaft 5, a concave groove 5a of almost the same length with a distance the rack shaft 5 moves when a steering wheel is steered from a neutral position to a maximum steering position is formed at both sides of a center point 5b corresponding to the magnetic sensor 12, and thereby these driving magnets 13 and 14 whose each thickness is minimum at the side of the center point 5b and becomes gradually larger extending over the other side are attached to this concave groove 5a.</p> |
