PURPOSE:To output contrast information excellent in resolution by applying plural scannings on the same line of a film so as to improve remarkably the S/N at a high density region. CONSTITUTION:The film F is moved intermittently sequentially at each pitch of sampling by using a platen 12. The intermittent movement is executed by a drive means driving the platen 12, e.g., a stepping motor at each input of a film shift pulse. A photodetector 11 applies plural scannings onto the same line of the film F during the standstill period in the intermittent movement to detect plural line data by one line orthogonal in the moving direction of the film F (e.g., 8 times). In summing plural line data collected by the scannings, the S/N of the picture information is improved remarkably even at the high density region of the film F and it is possible to output the picture information with excellent resolution to an external device. |
