NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X is H or halogen; Y is F or CF3; m is 0-5, n is 0-2). EXAMPLE:Perfluoro(6,6-dihydro-6-iodo-3-oxa-1-hexene). USE:Monomer for copolymer. Useful for the modification of a polymer containing ethylenic unsaturated compound. It can be used effectively as a general molding material, sealant, adhesive, paint, etc., which is to be applied to a part necessitating heat-resistance, oil-resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I wherein Y is CF3 can be produced by reacting the acyl fluoride of formula II with a lower alcohol such as methanol, reacting the resultant ester of formula III with an alkali metal hydroxide of formula MOH (e.g. NaOH) to obtain the salt of formula IV and heating the salt at 150-250 deg.C under reduced pressure or in an inert gas atmosphere such as N2. |
