PURPOSE:To enable a bail roller to contact with a platen under pressure and to be spaced apart therefrom corresponding to the position of a carriage at the times of the feed and delivery of paper, by providing an open lever for separating a bail roller shaft from a platen in connection with the carriage. CONSTITUTION:When paper is set to a paper feed operation state by a paper absence detector, a carriage 16 is once positioned at a home position and a current is supplied to a solenoid 18 in this state and a roller 19 is fallen to the position contacted with the cam 15f of an open lever 15. The carriage 16 moves to the center of a platen 14 and the open lever 15 is pushed by the roller 19 to be rotated to the direction shown by an arrow A around a guide shaft 14 and a shaft 10 is kept away from the platen 4 against a spring 13 through an arm 15a to separate a bail roller 11 from the platen 4. When a cut sheet 37 is drawn out from a paper feed cassette 27 and fed to the bail roller 11, the supply of a current to the solenoid 18 is cut off and the bail roller 11 presses the cut sheet 37 to the platen 4 by the spring 13. |
