PURPOSE:The titled enhancer, containing a hot-water extract of the liver of a mammal as an active constituent and capable of enhancing the acid resistance of Lactobacillus bifidus by adding to a food, e.g. fermented milk of acid pH (4-4.3pH) containing live bacteria of the Lactobacillus bifidus, etc. CONSTITUTION:A liver of a mammal, preferably a pig liver is finely cut, and water is then added thereto to extract the liver by boiling. The resultant hot-water extract is cooled, filtered and centrifuged to remove solid materials. The resultant liquid material is freeze-dried to afford the aimed enhancer. |
