摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the titled recording material excellent in developed color density and color forming sensitivity and suitable for high speed recording, in a thermal recording material utilizing the color forming reaction of a leuco dye and a developer, by together using a specific naphthalene thioether compound as an auxiliary component. CONSTITUTION:A naphthalene thioether compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein R is 1-10C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. As a substituent, there are halogen, haloalkyl and alkoxy etc.) together used as an auxiliary component has high capacity dissolving a phenolic compound being a developer (electron acceptive compound) used in a wide range and a leuco dye (electron donating leuco dye) at the time of heating and, by regulating the m.p. of the naphthalene thioether compound to be together used, a thermal recording material having arbitrary sensitivity is obtained. The naphthalene thioether compound pref. has m.p. of 40-150 deg.C and especially pref. has m.p. of 50-120 deg.C from the aspect of storage stability and sensitivity as the thermal recording material.
