PRODUCTION OF THEREMOPLASTIC RESIN

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having high gloss and bright color without whitening by ejection of molded articles, by emulsion graft polymerizing a vinyl aromatic compound and vinyl cyanide compound in the presence of plural kinds of butadiene based latexes having a specific average particle diameter, particle size and gel content. CONSTITUTION:40-90pts.wt. monomer mixture consisting essentially of a vinyl aromatic compound and vinyl cyanide compound is graft emulsion graft polymerized in the presence of 10-60pts.wt. (solid content) latex consisting of (A) 90-50wt.% butadiene based polymer latex having 2000-3200 Angstrom average particle diameter (Sp), >=65wt.% particles having within 0.6-1.4 Sp Angstrom particle diameter range and >=60wt.% gel content without containing particles having >=10000 Angstrom particle diameter and (B) 10-50wt.% butadiene based polymer latex having 600-1100 Angstrom average particle diameter (Sp), >=65wt.% particles having within 0.6-1.4 Sp Angstrom particle diameter range and >=10wt.% gel content to afford the aimed resin.
