PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency by inclining an incident end face of an optical fiber at a supplementary angle of a Brewster's angle, making a linearly polarized light incident, and advancing an incident light in parallel to an axis. CONSTITUTION:An incident end face 2 of an optical fiber 1 is inclined at a supplementary angle (90 deg.-thetaB) of a Brewster's angle thetaB. An incident light (i) is made incident on a normal of the end face 2 from a direction of the Brewster's angle thetaB. An angle of refraction thetaB' of a transmission light (t) in the incident end face 2 becomes thetaB'=90 deg.-thetaB, the transmission light (t) advances in parallel to an axis of the optical fiber 1, and a divergent angle of an emitted light U becomes small. In this way, the transmission efficiency is improved, the emitted light U is condensed easily, and the incident end face 2 is polished easily. This method is suitable for a laser knife and a laser for working. |
