PURPOSE:To raise the adhesive strength of a seal part by forming a color filter on a glass substrate, cleaning the surfaceof the seal part of this glass substrate by ultraviolet rays, and subsequently, sticking the upper and the lower glass substrates by a seal agent. CONSTITUTION:A glass substrate 1 is covered with a color filter 3, and by irradiating ultraviolet rays 5, the glass surface of a part which has not been covered with a photomask 4, namely, a seal part 1a is cleaned. Subsequently, an orientation processing is executed, the upper and the lower glass substrates 1, 1' are stuck y a seal agent 6, and also a liquid crystal 7 is enclosed. A body to be colored and a dyestuff which have adhered to the seal part 1a are re moved entirely by ultraviolet rays and ozone, and an adhesion by the seal agent 6 is executed exactly. As for an obtained liquid crystal display element, its strength is high, and its reliability is improved. |
