PURPOSE:To attain the success of an IPL even when the trouble exists at a special module by executing the initial program load (IPL) and executing repeatedly until the execution is normally completed, by means of the assembly of the module in accordance with the substitute logic for the classification of the module when the module of the unsuccessful cause cannot be specified. CONSTITUTION:When by the time out, etc., of an IPL supervising timer, the trouble module cannot be specified, by the substitute logic of the module determined beforehand, the assembly of a next IPL module is determined, and the new IPL is started. Namely, the starting of the new IPL is indicated by the substitute logic which successively assigns the assembly of the processor module of an assigning sequence (x), the memory module of an assigning sequence (y) and the IPL module by the channel module of an assigning sequence (z). At the time of failure, for the system control module, further, by the assembly of a processor module 2, a memory module 1 and a channel module 1, the starting of the IPL is indicated. The IPL action is completed by the IPL normal completing report. Thus, the probability to succeed in the IPL can be heightened. |
