PURPOSE:To improve the contact of electrode with a tile and gas diffusion and prevent crack generation in the tile by forming an electrode holder of a tray-shaped plate, and forming through holes and surface grooves connecting each hole in the plate. CONSTITUTION:An electrode holder 1 is formed in a tray shape so that the face of the center is recessed and the back is projected according to the width and thickness of electrode 12 or 13. A large number of through holes 3 are formed in the recess 2, and grooves 4 are formed mutually between edges of holes 3, and the electrode is fixed to the recess 2. Since the electrode holding part is jointly formed with the holder of the electrode, the electrode 12 uniformly contacts a tile 11, and gas diffusion is facilitated by grooves 4. Since the holes are not formed in the periphery of the electrode, electrolyte is not lost from the tile and crack generation in the tile is prevented. |
