PURPOSE:To improve starting ability of cell at low temperature by increasing the temperature of electrolyte by conducting heat generated by catalytic combustion in an air electrode to the electrolyte from a heat radiation part arranged near the electrode. CONSTITUTION:Fuel methanol in a fuel electrode liquid chamber 3 diffuses to an air electrode liquid chamber 4 through a separator 2, and conducts catalystic combustion reaction on an air electrode 7 to increase the temperature of the electrode 7. A corrosion resistant methanol net 8 fixed to the electrode 7 forms a heat radiation part having large heat conductivity by applying sand blast to its surface or fixing a fin to conduct heat of the electrode 7 to electrolyte for increasing temperature. Thereby, quick start at low temperature is made possible and starting ability is improved. |
