<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (X is OH, Cl or N3). EXAMPLE:3,5-dichloro-4-(3-chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyloxy-)benzoic acid. USE:An intermediate capable of producing industrially and advantageously N- benzoyl-N'-pyridyloxyphenylurea based compounds useful as an insecticide without using phosgene. PREPARATION:2,3-Dichloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine is reacted with 3,5- dichloro-4-hydroxy-benzoic acid and a base in an aprotic polar solvent at room temperature -150 deg.C to give a compound expressed by formula I-A, which is then chlorinated by the conventional method to afford a compound expressed by formula I-B. The resultant compound expressed by formula I-Bis further reacted with a metal azide in an inert solvent at -5 deg.C-room temperature to give a compound expressed by formula I-C. When the compound expressed by formula I-B is reacted with a compound expressed by formula I-B is reacted with a compound expressed by formula II and the metal azide, the above- mentioned insecticide expressed by formula III can be industrially and advanta geously produced in one bath.</p> |
