PURPOSE:To produce a pad of good quality without forming any voids by forming a cured layer integrated with the pad, by compressing a porous open- cell foam and allowing a synthetic expanded resin to penetrate into the inner layer thereof by a sucking force caused by restoration. CONSTITUTION:A foam 4 is placed on the inner side of the lower plate 32 of a pressing plate 34 by supporting it with a support pin 35. an expanded resin 5 is put into a mold 3. The mold 3 is fixed by clamping it, and the foam 4 is put between a pressing plate 33 and the pressing plate 34 and compressed. The plates 33, 34 are detached from each other to thereby release the foam 4 from pressing. The foam 4 is expanded so as to be restored to the original plate thickness. The expanded resin 5 during the course of expansion is sucked and allowed to penetrate into the inner layer of the foam to form a relatively thick cured resin layer. Since the foam is left on the support 35, the expanded resin 5 flows into the space between the foam 4 and the pressing plate 34 so that the foam 4 is introduced into the inner layer of the pad 1, whereby the foam and the pad can be integrally molded. |
