PURPOSE:To straighten freely a thin sheet material and also a thick one by attaching a group of rolls of upper or lower side to a holding frame, displaceably in the opposite direction with respect to a holding frame at another side of the frames for holding these groups. CONSTITUTION:In straightening a thin sheet material, an upper holding frame 11b is actuated so as to make the gap between lower large-diameter rolls 15a and upper large-diameter rolls 15b equal to the thickness of thin sheet material. Further, the fluid pressure in a hydraulic cylinder 14 is adjusted so as to apply a prescribed press-bending force to the thin material which passes between lower small-diameter rolls 12a and upper small-diameter rolls 12b. In this way, the rolls 15a, 15b press the material into flat, and the rolls 12a, 12b press-bend it, to perform the straightening of the thin sheet material. In case of straightening a thick sheet material, the upper frame 11b is lowered to apply a prescribed force to the thick sheet material which passes between the rolls 15a and 15b, thereby pressing the material into flat. Accordingly, the thick sheet material is smoothly straightened. |
