PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occupancy of a PCI bus and improve performance of a PCI bus system. SOLUTION: In the bus control method for controlling access between an initiator and a target via the PCI bus, re-try requests by the target according to an access request of the initiator are counted (S316) and, in the case that the counting value exceeds a predetermined number, a bus cycle is forcibly terminated temporarily (S320). With the simple structure for setting an upper limit of re-try number, a specific initiator does not occupy a local bus and the PCI bus, open opportunities for other initiators are increased and the performance of the PCI bus system is enhanced.
