PURPOSE:To make the utilization of a fine pitch space system dot printer to a coarse pitch space system character generator (CG) possible, by changing the write into a line buffer without changing the character generator (CG). CONSTITUTION:The generator of characters such as English numerals for 1/nm inch space syster CG1 and the generator of characters such as Chinese char acters for 1/m inch space system CG2 are furnished in a character pattern generation part. A line buffer 12 and a printing part 14 are made to be for those of 1/nm inch space system (n=2). The write of character pattern data into the line buffer 12 is carried out by one to one with CG1 and by one to n(n=2) with CG2. The read of the character pattern data of CG is carried out in the order of column 1, column 2, column 3....... Though if the bit number of one column is plural bytes and the data bus width is one byte, one column data is read by plural times of read, such read data is read to each column of line buffer by one to one with the English figure use 1/nm inch space system CG1 and to each column of line buffer by one to two with the Chinese character use 1/m inch space system CG2. |
