PURPOSE:To discriminate that a vessel is first exchanged when a cover is made in a closed state by making a guide plate abut on a tuning fork and checking its vibration and preventing the output of sensor changing when the cover is made in an open state. CONSTITUTION:When the top of waste toner stored in the vessel 2 rises gradually and attains the tip part of the tuning fork 3 with the use of a copying device, the tuning fork 3 cannot vibrate freely and an output level of an output terminal is lowered. When it is detected that the waste toner is filled up, the copying device stops the operation. Then, when the cover 1 is opened, the tip part of the movable guide plate 42 abuts on the tip part of one side of the tuning fork 3 by its own weight and the tuning fork 3 cannot vibrate freely. Accordingly, a detection circuit of an output signal continues to detect that the waste toner in the vessel is filled up. If the vessel 2 is exchanged with an empty vessel and the cover is closed, the guide plate 42 is separated from the tip part of the tuning fork 3 and the tuning fork starts to resonate and its output signal level rises and the detection circuit detects that the vessel is exchanged and the copying device starts it action. |
