PURPOSE:To obtain progressive damping characteristics in a suspension system for three-wheeled vehicle and the like by constituting such that either a body- side pivot shaft or a swing arm-side pivot shaft of a damper is located with displacement in fore-and-aft directions relative to the stroke axis direction of the damper. CONSTITUTION:A pivot shaft 7 of a damper unit 4 to a body 1 is displaced backward at right angles relative to the stroke axis direction of the damper by making a stay 4a extend from an upper damper case 6a of a damper unit 4. With this constitution, the damper unit 4 makes expansion-contraction as well as tilting movements while a swing arm makes vertical movements. At this time, the damper unit 4 gradually moves toward the direction of a tangent on a circle having a radius of the displaced amount due to the displacement of the pivot 7. Thus, rate of expansion-contraction gradually increases so that progressive damping characteristics are obtained. |
