The continuous paper 5 is continuously printed by a printer and then it is cut up into separate sheets 7; the various sheets 7 receive an adhesive coating 9 at certain locations and then they are folded so that a first section 10 is adhesively bonded to a second section 11 whereas a third section 12 bearing the address is folded back again and adhesively bonded to the first section 10. The invention enables mail to be produced continuously for the public postal system. <IMAGE>
