<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device having an excellent stable memory effect, not withstanding a sort of a ferroelectric liquid crystal, by rubbing an orientation treating layer composed of a high polymer layer contg. a skeleton of a fluorine compd. CONSTITUTION:The titled device having the improved heat resisting property, the non-polarity, the good orientation and the excellent memory effect may be obtained by introducing the fluorine compd. into the skeleton of the high polymer. And, the titled device having the improved heat resisting property, the non-polarity, the good orientation and the excellent memory effect may be also obtained by introducing the fluorine compd. to the skeleton of the high polymer in comparison with the orientation treating layer composed of a polyamide such as a nylon. Thus, the direction of the polarity or its amount or its strength may be changed and improved the memory effect of the ferroelectric liquid crystal.</p> |
