<p>In the production of granulated ammonium nitrate having a nitrogen content of 28 to 35%, in particular of fertiliser granules, a solution is provided using which, in a granulating plant equipped with a screw granulator, a granulated ammonium nitrate can be prepared which corresponds both to the latest guidelines of the Council of EC ministers (Official Gazette L 250 of 20.09.1980) and is also stabilised against signs of disintegration, and in particular has a good shelf life. This is achieved by pregranulating aqueous ammonium nitrate solution having a temperature of 150 to 170 DEG C in a preplaced bed of a screw granulator and then finally granulating and compacting the crude granules leaving the granulator in a polishing drum at 105-125 DEG C.</p> |
