Installation for oxygenation of the blood. The buffer reservoir is characterised in that it comprises: a compartment 22 of generally flattened shape, whose median plane P-P' is oriented vertically, and closed by a front lid 23 which is at least partially transparent; a bag 24 made of a flexible material which is at least translucent, of flat shape, disposed vertically in the compartment and one of whose walls has bottom tubes 25 with an axis perpendicular to the plane of the wall and passing through holes 27 made in the front lid, and at least one adjustable means 29 placed at the upper part of the compartment in order to limit at least locally the relative separation between the walls of the bag. Application to oxygenation installations used as replacements. <IMAGE>
