PURPOSE:To obtain a practical optical function element which has simple constitution, but has many functions by removing part of the radial outside clad part of the bent part of an optical fiber and allowing part of incident light to leak from the clad removed part. CONSTITUTION:When a push button 5 is drawn to left, the curvature of the curved part of a branch part 4 is decreased, and consequently incident light from an LED 3 travels straight from a direction shown by an arrow (a) to a direction shown by an arrow (c) as it is. In this case, the bent part of the optical fiber 2 is formed as the branch part 4, the clad part of the branch part 4 of the optical which extends longitudinally is removed partially at the opposite side from the punch button 5, and the core part exposed by the removal is connected to the core part of an optical fiber which extends to right. A bent part which projects slightly to right while the push button 5 is switched to the left side is formed at the branch part of the optical fiber 2 and the incident light from the LED 3 leaks slightly in the direction from the arrow (a) to an arrow (b) even in this state. |
