To enable a handicapped or infirm person to paint a ceiling or other high surface, where a ladder cannot be used, an accessory is used which enables a paint spray can to be used. The can is supported by a handle to which a control mechanism is attached for operating the push button on top of the spray can. - At the top of the handle is a collar for clamping the can in position. At the bottom is the free end of a cord which when pulled, operates a lever to actuate the push button.
