An FFS(Fringe Field Switching) mode semi-transmissive LCD is provided to reduce the number of manufacturing processes and improve the brightness of the LCD, by forming a contact hole, through which a common bus line and a common electrode are connected to each other, at a peripheral area. An FFS switching mode semi-transmissive LCD is composed of an upper substrate and a lower substrate(130). The lower substrate is divided into an active area and a peripheral area(120). A common bus line(121) is formed in the peripheral area. A first insulating layer(112), a second insulating layer(115), a counter electrode(116), a reflecting plate(117), and a passivation layer(118) are extended from the active area and disposed above the common bus line. An ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) layer(122) is deposited on the passivation layer. The ITO layer is electrically connected to the common bus line through a hole formed above the common bus line, and electrically connected to the counter electrode through a hole formed above the counter electrode. |
