The stretcher has pivotable supporting flaps (43) on the upper part (14) of the upper body, and these flaps can be folded upwards in order to support the shoulders of a patient in the Trendelenburg position for shock. This prevents the body of the patient from being displaced on the underlay in the direction of the head. Lateral supporting flaps (45) which fix the sides of the patient are fastened on the frame (10). Under at least one supporting flap (45) there is located a support part (56) which can be drawn out like a drawer and on to which the supporting flap (45) can be placed horizontally. The arm of the patient can be placed on to the supporting flap (45), for example, for giving infusions. The handles (26) can be locked in different angular positions. The handles (26) on the head side simultaneously serve to lock the upper supporting flaps (43) in the folded-up state. <IMAGE>
