A pump unit or the like comprises an electric motor (11) and a pump (12) actuated by said electric motor. The motor (11) is mounted in a concave housing (111) shaped by forming and preferably made of stainless steel and having relatively thin walls in order to facilitate the assembly of the parts of the pump unit, provided that the edge (113) of the housing (111) has a larger thickness, thereby forming a projecting bearing on its outer circonference. Said bearing is used as a stop for clamping members (13) which connect the housing (111) of the motor to other parts of the pump unit, particularly to the housing (121) of the pump or to a wall (14) which encloses the opening of the motor housing.
