In a warp knitting loom, the knitting tools and each warp beam (3) are actuated by individual electric motors (20) which are all supplied by a single common network. An electrically controlled clutch connected to the network is arranged in the transmission between each warp beam (3) and the corresponding electric motor (20). Said clutch (15, 16) is engaged by the network voltage and is disengaged in the absence of current.
