A pressure-responsive syringe (10) having electrodes (18) attached to an external electrical power supply (24). The electrodes (18) supply a low potential voltage of about 3 to 9 volts to an endogenously heatable composition (36) containing carbon fibers therewithin. The low voltage heats the composition by virtue of the carbon fibers to a temperature between 120 to 140<o>F to plastify the mass for filling a root canal of a patient.
