A hydropneumatic pressure converter has a first pneumatic part and a second hydraulic part. The essence of the invention lies in that the first pneumatic portion is formed by a flexible cylinder provided with a front plate having a cylindrical cavity. The cylinder of the second hydraulic part is arranged in the cylindrical cavity of the front plate of the flexible cylinder. The piston of the hydraulic cylinder is attached to the front wall which has the cylindrical cavity. The hydraulic cylinder has a fluid inlet chamber connected to an inlet conduit, and a displacement chamber which is separable therefrom with the hydraulic cylinder. The solution according to the invention is of particularly reduced size since the first part is arranged in the second part. Furthermore, the piston stroke requires only a small volume.
