As a result of a small web spacing, cavity slabs (double-webbed, three-webbed or similar slabs) are to be designated virtually only as transluscent, and not as transparent, even if they are produced from clearly transparent plastic. This is a problem, in particular, in the case of vertical glazing types. The slab described does not have these disadvantages because the spacings between the webs have been substantially increased. In order to ensure the required static values of a slab of this type, design changes (radii, material thickness, etc.) are performed such that the spacing is fixed at from 7.5-fold to 15-fold of the internal width. The radii at the joint points are approximately 1/4 to 1/8 of the internal width.
