The flushing dump comprises a plurality of differently sized, geometrically similar elements (9, 10, 10', 11, 11') which can pivot together about a horizontal spindle (7) in order to generate a cleaning water surge. The flushing dump, which is mounted such that it is mobile or stationary in the tank (16), is filled with water via a line (3). The interiors of the elements (9, 10, 10', 11, 11') are connected to one another by openings in the side walls. The volumes and widths of the elements and the spacings of the overflow crests (14) are selected corresponding to the curvature of the tank (16).
