The invention relates to a switch having a switching shaft which is supported in the switch housing such that it can rotate and can be displaced axially. Located at two mutually opposite points on the switching shaft outer surface are two latching leaf springs which are in each case guided with play in the longitudinal direction at their first end and are fixed without play at their second end. Thus, during the movements of the switching shaft, the latching leaf springs cannot be displaced into the switching positions but spring out transversely with respect to their longitudinal direction. The switching positions are thus reached precisely and with little noise.
