摘要 A liquid crystal display is provided to widen a viewing angle by compensating optical characteristics at an area where liquid crystals are differently arranged, and improve motion velocity of the liquid crystal display by promptly arranging liquid crystal arranged along an outer ring of a storage capacitor in a direction according to mutual action of upper and lower directors. An upper substrate(200) and a lower substrate(100) face each other. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. A storage capacitor(C) is formed on the lower substrate, and includes a first storage electrode and a second storage electrode(145) facing each other in a vertical direction. A pixel electrode(160) is formed on the second storage electrode, and has a first lower director(171) and a second lower director(172) symmetrically connected with the first lower director. A common electrode(240) is formed on the upper substrate, and has a first upper director(251) separated from the first lower director and a second upper director(252) separated from the second lower director and symmetrically connected with the first upper director. The second storage electrode is symmetrically formed based on a virtual line connecting a point where the first lower director is connected with the second lower director, with a point where the first upper director is connected with the second upper director. The second storage electrode is extended in parallel with the first and second lower directors.
