A tote drawer is assembled with a rear lip slightly taller than the clearance between the rails in which the drawers nest and with a shallow wall height adjacent to the rear wall. The relative geometry allows the tray to tilt downwards without falling from the rack when almost fully withdrawn. The drawer must be tilted upwards to be totally removed from the rack. A simple design for ensuring that the drawer is (a) captive and (b) easily accessible when open. Pref. the sidewalls have internal hollow pillars which can interlock with transverse partitions having terminal hooks to inhibit splaying of the sidewalls and consequent disengagement of the retaining lip by buckling of the rear wall of the drawer. The upper part of the rear wall pref. incorporates a stiffening rib. The drawer and its ancillary rear wall and transverse partitions are of synthetic moulding material. |
