PURPOSE:To enhance the development speed of a photosensitive material by incorporating silver halide grains in an emulsion layer containing a specified amount of iodide and enhancing the swelling rate of the emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support contains silver halide having an iodide content of >=8mol% an this layer has a swelling rate of >=300%, thus permitting fixing speed to be enhanced without deteriorating a good state of graininess due to silver halide grains having a high content of iodide, and development speed to be enhanced by elevating a swelling rate. |
