PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, lightweight and simple developing device by forming a developer tank integrally with the bottom part of a developer feeding tank at the same level and forming a magnetic brush carrier for developer feeding in a connection hole of a diaphragm separating both the tanks. CONSTITUTION:The developer in the developer tank 3 is adsorbed by the magnetic brush carrier 5 for development, carried to a developing area and consumed to develop an electrostatic latent image, so that the toner density in the developer is reduced. When the toner density is dropped down to the minimum value, a feeding roller 11 is rotated by a signal outputted from a toner concentration controller (unshown). On the basis of the rotation of the roller 11, carrier in the developing tank 3 adsorbed to the roller 11 is also rotated and the carrier adsorbed to the roller 11 is regulated at a fixed height by a regulating plate 12 during the rotation and moved into the developer feeding tank 4, so that a part of the toner T is adsorbed, held in the carrier C and carried from a discharge port 15 into the developer tank 3. The carried-out toner T is carried up to the developing magnetic brush carrier 5 while being agitated successively by an auxiliary agitating plate 8, a diaphragm 9 and a main agitating plate 7. |
